SAPATA CHARLIE

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to the legendary SAPATA CHARLIE. He is well known in the Nooitgedacht Society and is a great loss to the breed. He added exceptional movement good conformation, height and an exciting temperament.
Charlie was well known in the show ring.
While at Fijnbosch Farm, he competed in Dressage, Showjumping, Eventing, as well as showing.
Most of Charlie’s progeny have his presence, his movement and his temperament. And we are sure that they will do Charlie justice in the show ring.
Charlie you will be sorely missed by all.

DAYDREAM FABIUS
1992/10/08
Fabius’ progeny are showing a lot of potential. They all seem to have inherited his jumping ability, as well as his agility turning on the haunches. Fabius is known as the stallion with one of the oldest bloodlines in the Nooitgedacht Society, so we are very privileged to have him as one of our stallions.
He has won in Pretoria show numerous times. In 2008 Fabius started competing in eventing with our Academy students. He has shown a lot of potential. Coming 3rd in his first eventing show, then placed in all of his other shows. He competed in a few showjumping competitions as well and was placed in all. He is quick on the turns and quick in the jump offs. We will see what 2010 holds for Fabius in the competition circuit.

CALABASH PITA
1998/12/10
Fijnbosch bought Pita in September 2008. We have our first foals of Pita on the ground, a filly and a colt. He is trained and competed by the Stud Manager, Chantelle McCabe. He was placed in his first eventing class, showing a bold temperament over the cross-country jumps. And a huge jump over the showjumps. He is competing in Novice dressage, and is placed in all his classes.
We are hoping for a bit of height in his progeny, so that we can target the adult market with the Nooitgedachts.

MERRYTHOUGHT TENOR

Tenor is still a young stallion. He shows alot of potential on the flat and over jumps. He is trained by the Stud Manager, Chantelle McCabe. He will be doing his first eventing show now in February 2010.
We are expecting his first foals end of 2010, and we are very excited to see what the combinations of his bloodlines with the mares’ bloodlines will produce.

MARES:
| We have 20 mares used in the breeding programme. Not all are used in one year, as it is our belief to give each mare a rest from the breeding scene, to keep them healthy and problem free. |

FOALS:
We have chosen 1 colt to be Sapata Charlie’s predassessor. He was born 26 December 2008, and he was named after the brightest star in the galaxy, or otherwise known as the eye of Canis Majoris. This special colt is known as FIJNBOSCH SIRIUS. He is out of the mare Daydream Memoir. We have a full sister to him who will start competing this year.
We were very blessed with 7 foals this year. And it seems it was the year of the fillies, 6 fillies and 1 colt. For 2009/2010 we are expecting 12 foals. And we are hoping that all the mare’s that were covered with Sapata Charlie will carry to term. We have combined his bloodlines with some very good bloodlines of the older Nooitgedacht bloodlines, for instance Kolonie Mdindi. We are very excited! |

ACHIEVEMENTS:

SAPATA CHARLIE: He won Part-bred stallion at the Pretoria Show. He has successfully competed in Showjumping and Elementary dressage. |

DAYDREAM FABIUS: He has competed successfully in all disciplines. And has won and been placed in all his classes. He has an extraordinary jump and he breeds that into his progeny. In 2008 he won the 6 bar class, that ended at 1.30m |

CALABASH PITA: He has done exceptionally well in all the disciplines, i.e. dressage, show jumping and eventing. He was placed in all his classes as well as winning his dressage classes. He is currently competing in Novice dressage. Due to an unfortunate injury, he will only be competing in dressage. |

FIJNBOSCH ETHYCA GEMINI: Over the years he has proven to be an exceptional horse. He has won Young Riding horse under 5 at the Pretoria show in 2005. Since then Gemini has proven himself in all disciplines, always placing in the top 3 placing. He has won numerous Championships awards in Showjumping. He is currently competing in Novice dressage with points to go Elementary, he is also currently competing in the 1m classes. |

CALABASH RUBY: Over the past years Ruby was used in the Academy as a confidence builder, for all sorts of riders. In 2008, she was trained and competed by Stud Manager, Chantelle McCabe, in Eventing, dressage, and showjumping. For Ruby’s first dressage show, she received the highest results of 72%. Every show after that she just improved on that. She has a super jump, and jumps boldly in the country. She is now taking a year off, because she has been put into foal with Sapata Charlie. |

FIJNBOSCH BUCHU: He is a brilliant little horse that has already proven himself over and over again. He won numerous competitions in the dressage and showjumping circuit. In 2008 he won the SANEF Qualifier among Warmbloods. He is now ridden by Fijnbosch Farm’s owner’s son Luke Speres, and he has won all his shows on this bold horse. |

FIJNBOSCH IXIA: Over the last few years Ixia has really excelled in both dressage and showjumping. He is currently jumping in the 1m classes with comfort and he shows huge potential. He is ready to go Novice dressage in 2010 with the right rider. |

FIJNBOSCH SALVIA: This filly is a youngster which shows loads of potential. She has won at the Pretoria Show. She received high percentages in her dressage tests, and so far clear in all her jumping shows. She shows great athletic ability in all disciplines. With her first eventing show, she went clear, and jumped the cross-country jumps like a professional. We have great hopes for her. |

FIJNBOSCH ERICA: A beautiful tall mare with alot of presence. She has done well in Showing, dressage, jumping and eventing. She won at Pretoria Show in 2005. |

HARTLEY’S ANGIE: She is a super little pony that gives any rider confidence. She has proven herself in all disciplines from showing, dressage, showjumping and eventing. She is a bold pony that will jump anything. She has been place in every show she has been to. |

ETHYCA MIELA: She has been trained in showing, dressage, jumping and driving. She is a super horse, that can give any horse the confidence. Miela has been used for all ages and levels of riders. |

FIJNBOSCH ALECTRA: A young mare that shows tremendous skill and scope over jumps. She is bold and has done well in all her shows. She has been placed in most of the shows she has done. We look forward to see what she will bring in the future. |

Up and coming horses to start competing 2010:
All of the following horses show potential in dressage and showing. We have only started taking them over poles and been doing grid work and small jumps with them to start introducing them to jumping. They are all showing a keen interest in the work.
Horses that were sold and are doing well at shows:
· Fijnbosch Sundancer: He has been sold to a 9 year old girl in Cape Town, who is doing Equitation, Showjumping, Dressage and has just started with eventing. Things look quite promising for this partnership as they are doing well at their shows.
· Fijnbosch Toffee Apple & Fijnbosch Lance were sold to the same owner, but they are still ridden by the academy students. Toffee has competed in several shows, i.e. showing, dressage, jumping. It seems that her forte is Showing and dressage. Lance is doing very well as a youngster, he is showing great agility and athleticism in dressage and jumping. He has an exceptional temperament, and he shows this in his work. We look forward to see what this youngster will bring to the show ring.
· Fijnbosch Falcor: He has gone to lovely people in Somerset West, who will be doing endurance with him. We look forward to hear what his progress will be.
Polo ponies:
We are venturing in a completely new area of expertise. We have a team of 10 ponies entering into a junior polo team, for children interested in competing at polo. These ponies really show a lot of promise. They are quick on their feet, agile and very bold. George Mumba trains these horses and he is doing a brilliant job with them. They will be doing their first polo matches in this polo season. These are the names you have to look out for in the polo circuit and we know they will carry the Nooitgedacht name high.
